Cost analysis of venous stent reconstruction in the treatment of chronic lower extremity venous occlusive disease
Abstract
As healthcare costs approach 20% of the United States’ gross domestic product, accurate healthcare cost accounting has become increasingly important [ 1 ]. Increases in the direct cost of hospital-based care have been predominant drivers of overall healthcare spending [ 1 , 2 , 3 ]. Furthermore, the emergence of value-based payment systems has bolstered the importance of precise, accurate cost estimates, ensuring fairness in reimbursements and identifying novel opportunities for cost reduction.
