In a study of 219 people, human authors were judged more competent than AI authors when presenting technical information about large language models. Attitudes toward AI shaped those judgments and were also linked to differences in how credible participants found texts attributed to male and female authors.

This review-style evaluation compares two large language models—OpenAI o1 and DeepSeek R1—in English and Chinese for supporting junior anesthesiologists. Using 30 Delphi-created anesthesia crisis scenarios, experts rated accuracy and logic, while junior physicians rated clarity and usefulness. Results differed: OpenAI o1 scored higher for accuracy, while the DeepSeek R1 Chinese version scored higher for practical, step-by-step guidance.
A national U.S. survey found that 24% of adults use general-purpose AI chatbots for mental health. Researchers estimate that 14–18 million U.S. adults may use these tools for mental health in 2024, and that users report poorer mental health and greater difficulty accessing traditional care.
