Periodic joint co-tiles of independent tiles
For every d ≥ 2, we prove that d-1 independent finite tiles in Z^{d} admit a fully periodic joint co-tile whenever they admit a joint co-tile. Here independence means that the tiles contain the origin and every choice of one nonzero vector from each tile is linearly independent.

Abstract Increase in extreme precipitation is expected with global warming that leads to an increase in atmospheric moisture content. Here, we present evidence for interdecadal decrease in extreme precipitation frequency and amount around 2008/2009 over the tropical Indo‐western...

The discharge process of compressed air energy storage (CAES) is challenged by inlet throttling loss and off-design mismatch caused by continuously declining cavern pressure. To address this issue, a coordinated operational optimization integrating a variable-speed pre-expander w...

Distributed adaptive safety-critical coverage control of multiple autonomous underwater vehicles
This paper addresses the problem of distributed adaptive safety-critical coverage control for multiple autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs), and proposes a novel distributed control strategy to simultaneously ensure the safety and coverage of multiple AUVs. For AUVs with disturb...

Implementing underground coal gasification (UCG) in post-ECBM reservoirs, namely coal reservoirs after CO 2 -enhanced coalbed methane (CO 2 -ECBM) recovery, provides a potential pathway for residual energy recovery. However, the pre-existing CO 2 -rich environment alters reservoi...

Achieving high-efficiency tritium extraction represents a significant engineering challenge in the context of liquid breeder blanket concepts. The present paper focuses on the permeator against vacuum technology, establishing three-dimensional transport models and one-dimensional...

The mammalian olfactory epithelium (OE) exhibits remarkable capacity for continuous regeneration. Our previous work demonstrated that Chitinase-like 4 (Chil4) regulated regeneration in the injured OE. Expanding upon these findings, here we reported that Chil4 deficiency resulted...

Forest gaps record disturbance, regeneration, and canopy structural change, yet estimates of gap closure depend strongly on the height threshold used to define when a gap is considered closed. This issue is particularly relevant for three-dimensional LiDAR analyses, where gap str...

As a class of promising micro- or small-scale energy conversion technologies, heat-driven oscillating systems have drawn growing attention in heating, cooling, and power generation, thanks to their high reliability and high efficiency, especially for the conversion of lower-grade...

Epigenetic training licenses naïve CD8 + T cell metabolic fitness and function
Naïve T cells maintain quiescence yet must respond rapidly to antigens, but how they prime this capacity is unclear. We identify histone variant H2A.Z as a key regulator of an epigenetic training program that licenses quiescent naïve CD8 + T cells for future activation. H2A.Z def...

The sources and roles of volatiles in tin (Sn)-related magmatic systems remain controversial. We present integrated K–Li–Nd isotopic, trace element, and volatile data from Late Cretaceous Xishan Sn-mineralized granites in the southern margin of the South China Block to constrain...

Black carbon (BC) aerosols exert a strong yet uncertain influence on the atmospheric energy balance, yet their radiative forcing estimates remain poorly constrained. Current top-down and bottom-up approaches remain limited in resolving how microphysical evolution and column prope...

Abstract Precipitation (P) partitioning, a critical process for local water management, exhibits complex responses to climate change and elevated atmospheric CO 2 (eCO 2 ) through plant physiological and available water-energy effects, yet disentangling these effects at the seaso...

ABSTRACT Precise control over C─H oxidation remains challenging due to the intrinsic coupling between the generation and reactivity of oxygen‐based oxidants. Here, we identify the interfacial electric field as an effective reaction coordinate that decouples these processes, enabl...

Comprehensive study of cosmogenic neutron production in large liquid scintillator detectors
Abstract Neutrons produced by cosmic ray muons constitute a significant background for underground experiments investigating neutron oscillations, neutrinoless double beta decay, dark matter, and other rare event signals. This work benchmarks measured neutron yields and neutron m...

A Shallow‐Marine Ecosystem Before Initial Tibetan Plateau Uplift
Abstract The uplift of the Tibetan Plateau profoundly influences global atmospheric circulation, sediment transport, and biodiversity, but its pre‐uplift marine paleoenvironment remains poorly understood. Here we report the first discovery of an in situ benthic fossil assemblage...
