Review finds mRNA HPV vaccines showed effects in animal models

In the included animal studies, mRNA vaccines produced expanded HPV-specific CD8+ T-cell populations and strong interferon-gamma responses. The pooled analysis reported a statistically significant reduction in tumor volume, with an SMD of -2.305 (95% CI, -2.64 to -1.97). The abstract also reported near-complete viral-load reductions in challenge models. These are preclinical animal findings; the abstract does not establish whether similar effects occur in humans.
