Signals from the noise: Decoding global AI discourse in central bank communications

This study examines how artificial intelligence (AI) has entered and evolved within the official communication of central banks. Using an archive of central bankers’ speeches covering 1996–2024, we develop a multi-stage NLP framework that combines an AI–finance lexicon validated...

Structure-property relationships in biopolyurethane/acrylate hybrid films: Role of chain extender and acrylic content

Waterborne polyurethane/acrylic (PU/AC) hybrid dispersions are widely used in coatings applications due to their low environmental impact and tailorable thermomechanical performance, and are typically composed of particles with a core-shell morphology. Controlling phase morpholog...

Microstructure and optical–infrared properties of vacuum-annealed Ag–TiN–Al2O3 coatings

This study investigates the structural and optical–infrared (IR) characteristics of Ag–TiN–Al2O3 multilayer coatings deposited via magnetron sputtering on silicon substrates and subjected to vacuum annealing at 300°C, 400°C, and 500°C. X-ray diffraction analysis confirmed the for...

Risk factors for tuberculosis: a nationwide cohort study among Greenlanders in Denmark, 2005–2022, highlighting social vulnerability

In tuberculosis (TB) low-incidence countries, TB is becoming increasingly concentrated in marginalised populations. Progress towards TB elimination therefore requires targeted interventions informed by knowledge on the determinants of disease in specific subpopulations. In Denmar...

Delayed methotrexate toxicity after initial clearance in a critically ill patient with severe fluid overload

Methotrexate (MTX) toxicity is a life-threatening complication in oncology patients. We report a 19-year-old male with newly diagnosed Burkitt lymphoma who received high-dose methotrexate as part of induction chemotherapy and initially met protocol-defined serum clearance criteri...

Increasing usable reads in RNA-seq protocols

Bulk and single-cell RNA-seq are powerful tools for transcriptomic analysis, providing insights into molecular and cellular phenotypes. Costs constrain the biological insights obtainable within a given budget, and as sequencing prices decline, efficient library protocols have bec...

A single-nucleus transcriptomic characterization of EGFR G719X/S768I double-mutant lung adenocarcinoma identifies an immunosuppressive niche defined by COL4A3-CD44 interaction

EGFR double mutations (G719X/S768I) represent a clinically recalcitrant subtype of lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD) characterized by diminished tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI) sensitivity. However, the specific tumor microenvironment (TME) features and intercelluar crosstalk driving th...

CortexNet: convolutional neural networks for alzheimer’s disease diagnosis using brain MRI

Alzheimer’s disease is one of the most common degenerative brain diseases, and its early detection plays an important role in improving clinical management, increasing treatment effectiveness, and reducing the consequences of disease progression. In this study, a family of convol...

Position paper : Evolution as Virus principle - The basic mechanism of reproduction in plants and animals

This position paper formulated one ontological Redefining evolution. It shows that viruses are not only temporary activated patterns are those whose existence exclusively in the inner Water area living cells possible is , rather that she at the earliest Reproductive mechanism rep...

When technical standards fail. Questionnaire wording and the comparability of PISA truancy data

Abstract This paper presents a case study of how an undetected wording change in the OECD’s Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) may have led to erroneous conclusions. We focus on a survey question intended to measure student truancy across countries and over tim...

Steerable microcatheter-assisted selective inflow embolization of a giant femoral artery bifurcation pseudoaneurysm: A case report

Femoral artery pseudoaneurysm is a known complication of arterial access, and its management can be particularly challenging in patients with severe coagulopathy or complex vascular anatomy. Here, we report a case of a giant femoral artery bifurcation pseudoaneurysm arising from...

Microwave-assisted irradiation crystallization of 45S5 bioglass: Densification, mechanical performance, microstructure evolution, and multifunctional bio-performance

In recent times, 45S5 bioglass-ceramics have attracted significant attention for biomedical applications due to their excellent mechanical performance and considerable bioactivity. In this study, 45S5 bioglass was fabricated by a melt-quenching method and subjected to microwave-a...

Dynamic evolution of chaperone-mediated autophagy is associated with tumor microenvironment remodeling and prognostic stratification in lung adenocarcinoma: insights from single-cell transcriptomics, ensemble machine learning, and experimental validation

BACKGROUND: Lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD) shows prognostic heterogeneity, and tumor-node-metastasis (TNM) staging is limited for individualized management. Chaperone-mediated autophagy (CMA) maintains proteostasis, but its role during adenocarcinoma in situ (AIS)-minimally invasive...

Cecal microbial sequencing of brooding laying hens

Cecal microbial sequencing was carried out on brooding laying hens under different treatments

Admissible Non-Injective Transitions as the Primitive of Physical Description

Quantum mechanics is the effective theory of physically real unresolved admissible structures and their resolution. This paper establishes the minimal axiomatic foundation from which this claim follows: physical structure is derived from a single primitive, the local structure of...

Probabilistic surrogate modeling for gas foil bearing stability

Abstract In the context of Industry 4.0, improving the reliability and efficiency of rotating machinery remains a relevant challenge, particularly for systems employing Gas Foil Bearings (GFBs). This paper investigates the development of surrogate models based on Bayesian Neural...

Transport disadvantage and suppressed travel among low-income older adults: Lived experiences of social housing tenants in Ghent

Transport disadvantage is widely researched, yet less is known about how mobility constraints translate into suppressed travel: desired but unrealised trips. This paper examines suppressed travel among low-income older adults, focusing on social housing tenants in Ghent, Belgium....

FT-IR–based strategy for Streptococcus pneumoniae serotyping using machine-learning classifiers

Rapid serotype identification of circulating Streptococcus pneumoniae is essential for both effective epidemiological surveillance and clinical management. The gold standard serotyping method (Quellung reaction) is time-consuming, labor-intensive and expensive. Fourier transform...

Nutritional insights in endodontics: a review of micronutrients in root canal therapy

Purpose: Micronutrients play critical and multifaceted roles in the biological processes governing endodontic healing. This review aimed to evaluate the therapeutic roles of essential micronutrients, including vitamin D, vitamin C, calcium, zinc, magnesium, and selenium, in modul...

Bioactive composition and pharmacology of red wine, beer, and Huangjiu (Chinese rice wine): a review

Red wine, beer, and Huangjiu (Chinese rice wine) are widely consumed fermented alcoholic beverages whose compositions and health effects have attracted considerable interest. Current evidence indicates that fermentation endows these beverages with diverse bioactive compounds such...
