2-Propyl-1-(4-(2,3,4-trimethoxybenzyl)piperazin-1-yl)pentan-1-one
Abstract
A new hybrid molecule, combining the pharmacologically relevant scaffolds of valproic acid and trimetazidine, is reported. The target compound was synthesized via a rapid mechanochemical approach using a planetary ball mill, enabling the efficient coupling of the branched-chain valproic acid moiety with the piperazine fragment of trimetazidine. The structure of the new compound was fully characterized by 1H and 13C NMR spectroscopy, IR spectroscopy, and high-resolution mass spectrometry, confirming its identity. This work demonstrates the applicability of mechanosynthesis as a straightforward and sustainable strategy for the preparation of novel hybrid molecules of potential pharmacological interest.
