Crafting Across Domains: Enhancing Crafting Behaviour Among Entrepreneurs Through a Face-to-face Intervention

Open access0 citations

Abstract

This article examines the effectiveness of a face-to-face intervention aimed at encouraging entrepreneurs to use crafting strategies, including seeking resources, optimising demands, network crafting, and leisure crafting. Using a quasi-experimental design (i.e., intervention group, N = 33, control group, N = 49), the article investigates how the use of these crafting strategies affects entrepreneurs’ motivation, fatigue, work-life balance, and financial goal attainment. The intervention consisted of two sessions lasting two and one hour(s) respectively, featuring theoretical explanations, individual assignments, and reflective discussions. Entrepreneurs who participated in the intervention demonstrated an increased use of seeking resources, optimising demands, and network crafting compared to the control group. Furthermore, the intervention enhanced the motivation of participants through increased resource seeking, and their financial goal attainment improved through demand optimisation. These findings indicate that entrepreneurs can be trained to proactively use crafting strategies to enhance their well-being and financial success.
