Codex: Planetary Adaptation and Human Sustainability Beyond Earth

Abstract

Abstract Human existence is deeply tied to Earth’s environment—oxygen-rich air, stable gravity, and a biosphere optimized over millions of years. Yet the future of civilization demands expansion beyond Earth, into planets such as Mars and the Moon, which lack the fundamental conditions for terrestrial survival. This codex investigates the scientific and Sanahi principles required to sustain human life in such environments. Unlike Earth organisms, alien life—if it exists—may not depend on oxygen or gravity in the same manner. Instead, it may adapt to carbon dioxide, methane, or other molecular structures as survival bases. This raises the dual necessity: (1) to engineer planetary atmospheres to support humans, and (2) to enhance human physiology to survive alien environments.
