Researchers tested three AI systems designed to correct climate misinformation. The system that broke debunking into subtasks produced more relevant facts than a basic single-prompt system, while a version using authoritative outside sources was better at identifying and explaining misleading reasoning.
A national experiment involving about 3,000 people found that taking part in a public exercise on heat-transition policy modestly increased trust in government. Messages focused on environmental, financial or stability concerns did not increase trust and sometimes lowered it.
Dutch newspapers used 331 metaphors in coverage of quantum science and technology from 2010 to March 2024. The metaphors followed recurring patterns, linking difficult quantum ideas to familiar objects, physical phenomena and existing technologies.
