Abstract
Last month the Heather Maurer, executive director of the National Council on Problem Gambling resigned after taking $2 million from Kalshi, a prediction market. The problems of gambling addiction and problem gambling have been growing with online sports betting and prediction markets. With no money from the federal government for problem gambling, and a growing commercial investment in gambling, it's hard to see how young people will have a treatment or even a respite from the lure.
