Harmonization, interoperability and an open architecture for all the stakeholders of a pan-European electrical system: the vision of the project OneNet
Abstract
This work offers an overview of the essential findings of the project OneNet, which aims to enable a pan-European electrical system where the heterogeneous landscape of stakeholders, markets and platforms across Europe can openly participate at all levels. The paper outlines the vision for an interoperable open-source and open-access architecture, which enables the full exploitation of flexibilities in the energy system by maximizing the integration of distributed resources and end customers enabling interaction and coordination among all stakeholders. The paper addresses the aspects harmonization, interoperability, technical background of the implementation of the reference architecture, as well as cybersecurity.
