Dynamical Architecture and the Physical Organization of Evolution
Abstract
Interaction specifications acquire determinate evolutionary effects through a system’s lawful response organization. This article distinguishes kinematical structure, response rules, interaction contributions, and selected problem data. Newtonian inertia and free quantum spreading identify physical response properties that the specified electric or potential coupling does not determine. Hydrogen supplies a complementary contrast: the classical Coulomb Hamiltonian is globally unbounded below, although it admits bound orbits, whereas the quantum Coulomb Hamiltonian has a lower energy bound and a stationary ground-state distribution. Integration connects these cases: the organization that sustains free evolution also determines the joint effects of several contributions on one system. These results establish explanatory priority for response organization in determining how specified interactions affect histories. A realist argument establishes the ontological status of the represented response properties and their independence from the specified coupling. Their microscopic origin is a separate explanatory question. Structural causal relevance is demonstrated by physically different inertial responses under a common law and fixed electric coupling. A further application separates time-reversal symmetry, closure of admitted histories, and invertibility of retained-state maps. Restricted Gaussian preparations, outgoing waves, and a nonselective measurement distinguish these questions and locate the relevant restrictions and information loss within complete physical problems. The article’s central result is the connection between free evolution, integrated response, and the independent physical status of response organization.
