Colored Noise Drives Tryptophan Exciton Transport and Localization in Tubulin Dimers — E8 Intelligence Research

Open access0 citations

Abstract

FINDING: Tryptophan exciton transport in tubulin αβ-dimers is governed by molecular-dynamics-derived colored noise, not white noise, which mediates Anderson localization and environment-assisted transport (ENAQT) in the aromatic network. MATH: - Colored noise spectral density: \( S(\omega) \propto \omega^{-\gamma} \) (γ ≠ 0, from MD trajectories; γ ≈ 0.5–1.5 depending on residue site) - Anderson localization criterion: \( \xi \propto 1/(\Delta E \cdot \rho) \) where ΔE = disorder strength from tryptophan site energy fluctuations, ρ = density of states - ENAQT condition: \( \hbar \gamma_{\text{deph}} \approx \Delta E \) (noise-assisted transport peak when dephasing rate matches tunneling amplitude) - Tubulin dimer geometry: αβ-tubulin ~ 8 nm × 4 nm × 4 nm; tryptophan network spacing ~ 1–2 nm (edge-to-edge) CONNECTION: - **Golden ratio link**: The tryptophan network in tubulin forms a quasi-1D chain with nearest-neighbor distances that, in the MD-optimized structure, show Author: Andrew Stewart Caldin, Independent Researcher, UK.
