From Additive Use to Produced Water Signatures: A Screening and Prioritization Framework
Abstract
This repository contains the study-specific processed and derived materials used to reproduce the basin-comparative hydraulic-fracturing additive screening and prioritization framework applied to the Permian and San Juan basins. Materials include processed data summaries, standardized chemical/CAS and functional-category information, chemical-property/source data, chemical- and category-level scoring results, sensitivity and uncertainty analyses, time-resolved representative HF-event source-term scenarios, EIA-derived basin-boundary files, and Python scripts used for data processing, scoring, statistical analysis, and figure generation. The original hydraulic-fracturing disclosure records are not redistributed because they are publicly available from the FracFocus Chemical Disclosure Registry. The source-term scenarios contained in this archive are screening-level, mixing-based estimates and should not be interpreted as measured produced-water concentrations, basin-wide averages, chemical-source attribution, or site-specific predictions.
