Squeezing flow of Casson ternary nanofluid with analysis of Soret and Dufour

Open access0 citations

Abstract

The MHD squeeze ternary nanofluid flow of Casson fluid is studied, considering Dufour and Soret, chemical reaction and heat sink/source. The ternary nanoparticles silver Ag, graphene oxide GO and graphene Gr are disseminated in conventional fluid of sodium alginate $$\left({\text{C}}_{6}{\text{H}}_{9}{\text{NaO}}_{7}\right)$$ . The partial differential equations (PDEs) are discretized into ordinary differential equations (ODEs) via similarity conversion and computed by Keller box approaches. The present numerical outputs are compared with prior output to test the accuracy of method used and shown excellent conformity. Impacts of physical behaviour of fluid due to Soret–Dufour, chemical reaction, nanoparticles, squeeze, MHD and heat source/sink on flow behaviour are analysed. Graphical findings display that the flow accelerates when the plates is squeezed, whereas it decelerating in the middle of channel when $$\text{H}\text{a}$$ and $${\phi}_{2}$$ elevates. The drop in thermal transfer rate and temperature noticed for enhancing $${\phi}_{2}$$ , while contrary behaviour is discovered when Ec, γ and Du rises. Besides, the mass transfer rate increases and fluid concentration drops when increasing $$\text{S}\text{r}$$ . The mass transfer rate for constructive chemical reaction is decreasing and concentration increasing, whereas for destructive chemical reaction opposite results is observed. By referring to main outcomes, the utilization of ternary nanofluid is significance in the modelling of high impact coolant in the radiator. The conversion of kinetic energy within nanoparticles into a power voltage elevates with the presence of magnetic field. It will boost the capability of heat removal in the flow and enhance energy saving and emission reduction.
