Natural Language Processing and Human Communication
Abstract
Natural Language Processing (NLP) is transforming the way humans interact with machines, enabling intelligent systems to understand, interpret, generate, and translate human language. As one of the most influential branches of Artificial Intelligence, NLP bridges computer science, linguistics, cognitive science, and data analytics to facilitate effective communication in a multilingual digital world. This article explores the foundations of NLP, including language representation, machine translation, sentiment analysis, conversational AI, and large language models (LLMs). It highlights applications in education, healthcare, governance, and sustainability while emphasizing the leadership responsibilities required to ensure ethical, inclusive, and human-centered deployment of language technologies.
