Tuning the Photophysical Properties of Corannulene-Based D–A–A Emitters via Steric Isolation and Conformational Flexibility
Abstract
Abstract We report an asymmetric donor–acceptor–acceptor (D–A–A) strategy to investigate the photophysical properties of corannulene luminogens through the integration of phenylene bridges. Comparison of bridge-free, single-bridged, and double-bridged architectures reveals distinct emission behaviors. The single-bridged framework provides steric isolation that restricts non-radiative decay while maintaining conformational flexibility. This structural modification affords corannulene emitters exhibiting large Stokes shifts and photoluminescence quantum yields exceeding 92%.
