From transformational leadership to individual and collective teacher innovativeness: the roles of AI competence and learning agility

Abstract

Purpose This research investigates how learning agility mediates the relationship between transformational leadership (TL) and innovativeness, with artificial intelligence (AI) competence serving as a moderator. Design/methodology/approach The sample consisted of 417 Turkish teachers, and structural equation modeling was used for data analysis. Findings AI competence moderated the relationship between TL and learning agility and the indirect effect of TL on innovativeness. AI competence enhanced TL’s influence on both individual and collective innovativeness. Originality/value This research is among the first to integrate learning agility and AI competence into the educational leadership literature to understand how school leaders promote innovation.
