Implementing Open Data Kit (ODK) for in-house evaluation of library business support programs
Abstract
This paper introduces the use of Open Data Kit (ODK) for program evaluation in library business support initiatives. This article demonstrates the process of designing survey forms using XLSForm, collecting data using ODK Collect, and managing forms, submissions, users, and other server-side functions using ODK Central, as well as the possibility of integrating ODK Central with third-party applications for further data processing, including data analysis. It also highlights practical considerations for implementing ODK in evaluation workflows and discusses its implications for librarians seeking to adopt open-source technologies to support evidence-based program evaluation and continuous service improvement.
