Tokenized Title: Five Governance Questions Every On-Chain Land Registry Must Answer
Open access0 citations
Abstract
Dubai has put property title on-chain at scale: tokenized deeds, a regulated secondary market, and what the Dubai Land Department describes as the first Property Token Ownership Certificate. This paper sets out five governance questions every on-chain land registry must be able to answer in writing — what tokenization does to indefeasibility when a private key is lost, how jurisdictional control survives a 24/7 global secondary market, whether the registry can exit the chain, and what an automated agent may do to a title of public record — written from a registry architecture custodian's perspective.
