Differences in gut microbiota between septic patients and non-septic individuals

Abstract

To characterize the microbial signatures of sepsis, we collected stool samples from septic patients and hospitalized non-septic controls. 16S rRNA gene sequencing revealed significant reductions in gut microbial diversity and distinct compositional shifts in sepsis.
