Harmonized Panel Dataset on Electricity, Financial Institutions and Clean Cooking Access in Eastern and Southern Africa, 2002–2020

Abstract

This dataset provides the harmonized country-year panel used in the study “Electricity, financial institutions and clean cooking access in Eastern and Southern Africa: Panel evidence on delivery conditions.” The dataset covers 21 Eastern and Southern African countries from 2002 to 2020 and integrates indicators from WHO, World Bank, International Monetary Fund and OECD databases. The dataset includes clean cooking access, electricity access, financial institutions indicators, governance measures, GDP per capita, urbanization, energy-sector official development assistance and government consumption indicators.
