Poison control centre in Indonesia: What are we waiting for?

Abstract

In this letter, we present a case that drew significant public attention in Indonesia. The case involved a young boy who was bitten by a banded krait while sleeping. He was taken to a hospital, but due to delayed management, he eventually passed away. This case highlights the complexity of snakebite management in Indonesia, raises a number of critical issues for discussion, and brings to the forefront the idea of establishing a Poison Control Centre.
