Gut Microbiome Dynamics in Chinese Mothers and Infants: A Longitudinal Cohort

Abstract

This study provides a detailed map of how the gut microbiome changes individually in mothers during pregnancy and in their babies during the first critical months of life. By following a cohort of mother-infant pairs in China, we tracked the microbial community over time to understand how it develops and what factors influence its health. This data is a valuable resource for researchers studying early-life microbiome development, maternal health, and how these early microbial patterns might link to long-term child health outcomes.
