Abstract

Abstract This paper explores the specific expectations and needs of law students with regard to an introductory Python course tailored to their unique academic and professional requirements. The study involved semi-structured interviews with law students at the University of Mannheim and reveals a demand for practical, flexible, and applicable training that integrates seamlessly into their demanding schedules and is consistent with the principles of andragogy. Specific suggestions are derived for a custom adaptation of the Python introductory course. The research highlights the need to design well-targeted educational programs to bridge traditional legal education and the digital skills required in modern legal practice.
