Bio-based recycled-wood mortar cuts modeled emissions by up to 82%
A life-cycle assessment found that a mortar made with recycled wood aggregates and a bio-based phase change material had up to 82% lower modeled greenhouse-gas emissions than a conventional mortar. The results also showed trade-offs: the choice of plant-based feedstock strongly affected land use and water consumption.
