A small satellite could make rocket fuel from water for precise manoeuvres
Researchers have designed a water-based propulsion system for Foresail-2, a 6U CubeSat planned to study very low-frequency waves around Earth. The system would use electricity to split onboard water into hydrogen and oxygen, supplying propulsion for attitude control and de-orbiting.
