Uncertain evidence changed views on imprisoning immigrants, not deporting them
A national online survey experiment examined how Americans judged immigrants accused of crimes, including whether they should be imprisoned or deported. Uncertainty about witness evidence reduced support for imprisonment but did not change support for deportation.
