Study links feeding frequency with caregiver beliefs in Ethiopian children

Researchers studied 514 mothers or caregivers of children aged 6–23 months attending three public health centers in Harar City, Eastern Ethiopia. They found that 61.5% of the children met the study’s minimum meal-frequency standard, while meeting that standard was associated with caregiver beliefs, household circumstances, breastfeeding status, child age, and other factors.

Review explains how clinicians identify children with feeding disorders

This continuing-education review describes pediatric feeding disorders in children, especially those under age 5, and explains how primary-care clinicians can recognize and assess them. It summarizes a four-part framework covering medical, nutritional, feeding-skill, and psychosocial factors, along with screening tools and referral guidance. The article is a review of existing guidance, not a new study measuring outcomes in a newly enrolled group of children.
