Light turns oils and animal fats into jet-fuel-range hydrocarbons
Researchers developed a metal-free, light-driven process that converts compounds made from vegetable oils and animal fats into hydrocarbons within the sustainable aviation fuel range. The method worked at room temperature and normal air pressure, and could be driven by solar irradiation.
