Zero Forbidden: Galactic Migration as an Astrophysical Analog of Zero-Less Regularization

Abstract

Introduction Modern physics and mathematics are plagued by the concept of the singularity—a point where equations diverge to infinity and predictability breaks down. In classical gravity and electrostatics, the force law F \propto 1/r^2 diverges as r \to 0. In abstract algebra, division by zero destroys field axioms. In astrophysics, the Galactic Center (R=0) is a chaotic, high-radiation environment hostile to life. Recent high-precision astrometry from the Gaia mission has revealed a profound cosmological event: the Sun and 6,594 solar twins did not form in their current location, but migrated outward from the inner Galaxy (Baba et al. 2024; Taniguchi et al. 2026). This paper argues that this migration is not merely a dynamical coincidence, but the astrophysical manifestation of a universal principle: Nature forbids zero. We introduce the Zero-Less Method, a framework that systematically excises zero to restore structural integrity across three distinct scales: the algebraic, the classical, and the galactic. The Zero-Less Methodology: Mathematical and Physical Formulation The core thesis is that zero acts as a structural wall. Rather than treating 0 as a valid coordinate, we excise it to preserve continuity and closure. The Algebraic Scale: The Punctured FieldIn finite-field arithmetic, the inclusion of zero introduces the absorbing element. Consider the field modulo 5, F_5 = \{0, L, 2L, 3L, 4L\}. Here, 5L \equiv 0 \pmod 5. If we attempt a bijection a \mapsto b (e.g., mapping an element to its double), the presence of zero breaks the one-to-one mapping, and division by zero leads to undefined operations. Definition (Zero-Less Alphabet): We define the punctured field F_5^* = \{L, 2L, 3L, 4L\}. By explicitly forbidding 0, F_5^* forms a closed group under multiplication where every element has a valid inverse. The bijection a \mapsto b is guaranteed to be safe and valid. The Classical Scale: Regularizing the SingularityThis algebraic necessity translates directly to physical reality. Classical physics breaks down at r=0, producing infinite singularities. We propose a minimum length scale L, modifying the interaction law:F(r) = \frac{k}{r^2 + L^2} This formulation has two critical limits: 1. Macroscopic limit (r \gg L): F \approx k/r^2, recovering standard Newtonian and Coulomb dynamics.2. Singularity limit (r \to 0): F \to k/L^2, a finite maximum, preventing the mathematical breakdown of the theory. The Galactic Scale: R=0 as a Forbidden Zone We scale this principle to astrophysics. The Milky Way's Galactic Center (R=0) is characterized by extreme radiation, frequent supernovae, and chaotic gravitational dynamics—a "No Life Zone." The Gaia DR3 Migration EvidenceTaniguchi et al. (2026) identified 6,594 solar twins sharing the Sun's precise metallicity and age (4-6 Gyr). Their chemical signatures point to a shared origin near R \sim 5 kpc. However, their current location is R \sim 8.5-9 kpc. Standard models predicted only a \sim1\% success rate for crossing the corotation barrier (located at 6-7 kpc) due to the Jacobi energy constraint. Yet, Gaia data shows thousands succeeded. The migration was driven by a wave triggered by the formation of the Galactic bar 4-6 Gyr ago, which dynamically pushed stars outward into the quiet, stable outer disk. The Corotation Barrier as Astrophysical L_{min}In the Zero-Less framework, the Galactic Center R=0 is not a location; it is a wall. The corotation barrier acts as a natural L_{min}, a minimum safe radius. The outward migration is the physical manifestation of the Zero-Less survival principle: complex life requires a quiet environment, and nature actively migrates away from the singularity to allow 4 billion years of uninterrupted evolution. Compatibility with Current Observations A critical requirement for any new theory is that it must not violate existing, highly precise experimental data. To remain consistent with LIGO (which probes space at 10^{-18} m), the LHC, and Gaia N-body dynamics, we constrain the minimum length scale to the Planck length:L_{min} = l_P = \sqrt{\frac{\hbar G}{c^3}} \approx 1.616 \times 10^{-35} \text{ m} Substituting this into our force law yields:F_{max} = \frac{k}{l_P^2} \sim 10^{70} k At any observable macroscopic or astrophysical scale (R \gg l_P), the term l_P^2 is infinitesimally small, and the Zero-Less equation perfectly recovers General Relativity and Newtonian dynamics. Deviations only occur at the absolute Planck scale, meaning the theory is mathematically consistent and observationally viable. Conclusion The universe demonstrates a consistent aversion to the zero state. Whether it is the punctured field F_5^* in algebra, the regularized force k/(r^2+L^2) in mechanics, or the Galactic habitable orbit in astrophysics, zero must be forbidden to restore order and allow complexity. As the Sun's 10,000 light-year migration demonstrates, zero is not a destination. Zero is a wall. The Zero-Less method is not a mathematical decoration—it is the fundamental condition for survival.
