Induction of defense enzymes and protection of barley against Fusarium culmorum and Fusarium pseudograminearum by Pseudomonas fluorescens strains
Abstract
This dataset contains the raw data underlying the article “Induction of defense enzymes and protection of barley against Fusarium culmorum and Fusarium pseudograminearum by Pseudomonas fluorescens strains” (Sebihi et al., Archives of Biological Sciences, submitted). Two pot experiments were carried out on barley (Hordeum vulgare L.) to test two P. fluorescens strains (B Ps47, B Ps66) against two Fusarium isolates (Fus1, F. culmorum; Fus7, F. pseudograminearum). Nine treatments were compared: non-inoculated control, each bacterium alone, each pathogen alone, and the four bacterium + pathogen combinations. Experiment 1 (disease severity): disease score (0–3) of each plant (12 plants per treatment, 4 pots of 3 plants), pot means, standard errors and number of severely affected plants. Experiment 2 (defense enzymes): activities of lipoxygenase, peroxidase, phenylalanine ammonia-lyase, chitinase and β-1,3-glucanase (4 replicates per treatment), min–max normalized values, composite indices (DAI, AEI, BPI), and treatment means ± standard errors with Tukey HSD groups. Files: Raw_data_barley_Pseudomonas_Fusarium_Zenodo.xlsx — raw data, with a README sheet and a data dictionary (variables, units, formulas). Supplementary_Tables_S1-S3.xlsx and .docx — treatment means ± SE with Tukey groups (S1), two-way ANOVA results (S2), and plant-level disease scores (S3). Data are provided in English, with a dot as the decimal separator. Licence: CC BY 4.
