Teaching quality of private undergraduate colleges in Guangdong province based on AHP-fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method
Abstract
Although private undergraduate colleges have formed a substantial scale within China’s higher education system, research on their teaching quality evaluation systems remains insufficient. Addressing this research gap, this study develops a multi-level teaching quality evaluation framework consisting of five primary indicators and sixteen secondary indicators based on the operational characteristics of private universities. Integrating the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) with fuzzy comprehensive evaluation, this study conducts quantitative assessment and empirically verifies the feasibility and applicability of the proposed framework using panel data from 2018 to 2020 covering ten private undergraduate colleges in Guangdong Province. This study innovatively constructs a replicable evaluation tool tailored to the context of China’s private higher education and enriches the theoretical understanding of the determinants of teaching quality in private universities. The findings provide scientific empirical support and practical references for institutional teaching improvement and relevant policy formulation.
