Four Tasks After the End: From the Triangle-Circle Series to the Display Device
Abstract
The Recursive Ontology series, comprising sixteen papers published between August 25 and October 17, 2026—from When an AI Defends Itself (the Triangle-Circle inception) through consciousness topology, Foucaultian power diagnostics, strong causality, and the quantum measurement limit—has demonstrated that the categories of "being," "knowledge," and "logic" are stabilization products of recursive difference-structures rather than self-evident foundations. This seventeenth and culminating paper does not advance further argument. Instead, it identifies four tasks that philosophy assumes after the dissolution of first-philosophy: cartography, interfacing, design, and display. Each task is situated within the historical trajectory of philosophy—from pre-Socratic cosmology through Kantian critique to twentieth-century analytic and continental divergences—and calibrated against contemporary developments in quantum foundations, cognitive science, and computational ontology. The paper concludes by revealing that the preceding sixteen papers themselves constitute an exercise in the fourth task: display. The reader's recognition of this fact is not a conclusion to be accepted but a structural event to be undergone.
