Spin Networks: The Sole Mathematical Bridge to Sacred Geometry — E8 Intelligence Research

Open access0 citations

Abstract

FINDING: The search results are largely noise — arXiv abstracts on hexaquarks, traffic flow, graph recoloring, and leaf counting — with only one direct hit on Penrose's spin network formalism, which is the sole item with genuine mathematical depth relevant to sacred geometry. | MATH: The spin network formalism (Penrose, 1971) encodes SU(2) angular momentum recoupling via graphs where edges carry irreducible representations (spins j = 0, 1/2, 1, 3/2, ...) and vertices are invariant tensors (3j-symbols, 6j-symbols). The key algebraic structure is the Temperley-Lieb algebra and its Jones-Wenzl idempotents, with the quantum dimension at q = e^{iπ/r} given by [2j+1]_q = sin(π(2j+1)/r)/sin(π/r). | CONNECTION: The Penrose tiling's Robinson triangles (with angles 36°-72°-72° and 36°-36°-108°) have side ratios in the golden ratio φ = (1+√5)/2 ≈ 1.618. The algebraic integer ring ℤ[φ] has norm N(a+bφ) = a²+ab−b², and its unit group is generated by φ (norm +1) and φ−1 = 1/φ (norm −1).
