Characterization of almost Gorenstein rings in terms of the trace ideal

Abstract

We provide a characterization of one-dimensional almost Gorenstein rings in terms of the trace ideal. As an application, we investigate the almost Gorenstein property of certain ℤ 2 -graded rings.
