Integrated Economic Liberation and Asset-Building Model (IELAB Model)
Abstract
The Integrated Economic Liberation and Asset-Building Model (IELAB Model) is a proposed long-term framework designed to convert collective savings into productive investment, employment opportunities, business assets, and financial independence. The model proposes organizing groups of 100 members who contribute regular savings over a 20-year period. The accumulated capital is invested in productive enterprises, while profits are allocated among the implementing organization, members, and business reinvestment according to a predefined 30-year structure. During the first decade, the model prioritizes capital accumulation and reinvestment. During the second decade, members begin receiving a portion of net profits while another portion continues to expand the business. During the third decade, members no longer make mandatory new savings contributions under the proposed structure, and the project continues operating through its existing capital and assets. At the end of the 30-year period, ownership of the project's assets is intended to transfer to its member-shareholders, subject to the project's governing agreements and applicable law. The model also proposes integrating business activities across production, processing, storage, transportation, wholesale, and retail where commercially feasible. A portion of the implementing organization's own profit share may support humanitarian initiatives and interest-free financing for eligible students, small entrepreneurs, and underserved rural communities. IELAB is a conceptual proposal rather than an empirically validated development model. Its feasibility, financial sustainability, governance arrangements, and development outcomes require legal review, pilot implementation, transparent accounting, and independent evaluation.
