Mordell-Weil Lattice Rank 29 and E8 Embedding: A Missing Link in Current Literature — E8 Intelligence Research

Open access0 citations

Abstract

FINDING: The search results are primarily pedagogical (lectures on Mordell-Weil theorem) and visual (E8 lattice Fourier transforms), with one recent arXiv paper on parametric elliptic curve families and their 2-Selmer groups. No direct result on "Mordell-Weil lattice rank 29 root system E8 embedding discriminant" is present in the returned items. MATH: - Mordell-Weil theorem: \(E(\mathbb{Q}) \cong \mathbb{Z}^r \oplus E(\mathbb{Q})_{\text{tors}}\) (finite torsion, rank \(r\)). - E8 root system: 240 roots, Coxeter number 30, dual Coxeter number 30, discriminant of E8 lattice = 1 (unimodular, even, positive-definite). - arXiv paper (2503.04561v2): family \(E_m: y^2 = x(x-n_1)(x-n_2) + t^2\), with \(n_1,n_2,t \in \mathbb{Z}[m]\). Studies torsion \(E_m(\mathbb{Q})_{\text{tors}}\) and 2-Selmer rank bounds. No explicit rank-29 construction or E8 embedding appears in the abstract. CONNECTION: - E8 lattice is the unique even unimodular lattice in 8D; its Fourier transform (shown i Author: Andrew Stewart Caldin, Independent Researcher, UK.
