Can a Protected Domain Change Its Spacetime Connectivity?

Open access0 citations

Abstract

This methodological concept note, originating with Naveed Islam Butt’s protected-bubble thought experiment, asks whether a bounded domain could preserve an identifiable interior while changing its external geometric connectivity. It separates interaction suppression, changes in causal access, and the stronger conjecture of geometric reconnection. Two elementary checks reproduce standard model behavior: a flat-space thin-wall energy model has no stable finite equilibrium under its stated assumptions, and an ideal quantum-network protocol transfers a state only through an explicitly supplied receiving interaction. A dephasing and pulse-error calculation distinguishes arrival probability from state fidelity. These checks are not new gravitational results or evidence of transport by spacetime detachment. Version 4.2 is a public research note with conceptual illustrations, a candidate-model screening checklist, authorship information and an explicit AI contribution disclosure. No device, experimental observation, propulsion mechanism, controllable spacetime detachment or faster-than-light capability is reported. The strong conjecture remains undefined until a theory and transition rule are selected. Independent quantum-information and theoretical-physics review remains necessary. ChatGPT (OpenAI), under the author’s direction, assisted with literature discovery, critical review, drafting, calculations, diagrams, cover artwork and document preparation. AI assistance did not conduct experiments or supply specialist endorsement. The author retains responsibility for the manuscript and publication decision.
