DC-NO.HP Second-Order Meta-Historical Philosophy System
Abstract
Modern historiography presupposes, without examination, that historical reality is measurable and that measurement leaves its object undisturbed. This paper does not ask what history is; it asks by what warrant a theory of history claims validity, and advances on that basis the DC-NO.HP second-order meta-philosophy of history. The system comprises eight core presuppositions (HP-A-P1–HP-A-P8), three core propositions (HP-C-25 second-order universalism; HP-C-26 the double nature of preserving-the-past and knowing-the-future together with the incompensability hypothesis; HP-C-27 tong, "continuity," as a fifth category of historical time), and an operative tool chain (HP-TT-01–HP-TT-24). This document is unverified: n=0, Kappa not reported, no independent third party involved, and none of the three external hard criteria (HP-V-01–HP-V-03) attained. HP-C-26 and HP-C-27 are marked [validity pending unlock] and are not counted as established propositions. The system registers 26 defeasible clauses (HP-FC-01–HP-FC-26), publicly withdraws 7 claims (HP-X1–HP-X7), completes 26 acts of cession to adjacent work (antecedent constructions under the three-condition test; HP-RC-29 downgraded to extra-domain construction after review by the A/B boundary gate), registers a further 17 as extra-domain constructions, 144 as kindred items, and 152 as scattered take-up entries, with 23 items of Group F.17 pending classification—362 register numbers in total (352 unique objects after de-duplication). It discloses 160 open items awaiting verification (HP-L-01–HP-L-160), and sets three external hard criteria HP-V-01–HP-V-03 (none attained). A critical audit of 84 samples and two internal parameter-robustness simulations indicate that the stability deficit of historiographical theories within the sample is associated chiefly with the absence of exit conditions: HP-J-EXIT accounts for 41.2% of all testing rounds (3464/8400), the failure-rate under the failure denominator is 51.7% (3464/6697), and the stability loss attributable to the exit-condition gap is 41.3 percentage points (61.6% − 20.3%). These figures are descriptive statistics, exploratory in nature; the criteria on which they depend are not yet closed, and readers must not treat these point estimates as inferential. The unconditional stability rate is 33.0% on the denominator of all 100 rounds (34/100 admitted), to be reported alongside the conditional rate of 97.1%; the two have different denominators and neither may be cited alone. Its positive empirical basis is limited to two single-case illustrations (HP-TT-18; HP-TT-19/HP-TT-20). Under the MKC minimal-verifiable-case specification, both fail MKC-3 (executor must be independent of the compiler); they therefore do not constitute verification and are not counted as verified cases (current count: 0). The system presents itself as an instrument rather than a canon, and adopts four methodological stances: exitability, cession, reflexivity, and non-occupancy. Placement (historiographical placement) here denotes the operation by which historical writing draws uncertainty into an ordering apparatus while paying the cost of exclusion.
