GDUM's Overall Position on the Quantum Gravity Problem

Open access0 citations

Abstract

1 Core Ontological Thesis: There Are No Fundamental Quantum-Gravitational Degrees of Freedom GDUM's layered projection architecture establishes a conclusion that completely diverges from all mainstream quantum-gravity programs: gravity itself is not quantized; there is no graviton, no quantum gravitational field, and no quantum spacetime fluctuation. Gravity is not an independent dynamical field, but the gradient-projection geometry, without independent degrees of freedom, of the global topological flux density onto the emergent spacetime. The spacetime metric, curvature, gravitational propagation, gravitational waves, and black-hole geometry are all classical geometric objects at every energy scale accessible to the emergent layer. Quantum behavior is entirely confined to the source side: matter fields, topological residual excitations, and high-energy transient collective resonances all possess complete quantum behavior; but the geometric readout side (gravity) does not participate in quantum superposition, does not participate in unitary evolution, and does not generate intrinsic quantum fluctuations. This paradigm does not belong to string theory, loop quantum gravity, or discrete-spacetime systems of “quantizing gravity”; nor is it fully equivalent to the traditional semiclassical gravitational structure in which ⟨Tμν⟩ drives the geometry. It is instead a topologically projected semiclassical gravity: the geometry is passively read out from the global flux distribution, rather than being generated by local field dynamics.
