Abstract

This monograph formalizes "The Botanical Distinction," an operator-theoretic analysis of state-space perturbations caused by mind-altering agents. The study resolves a major analytical flaw in classical legal, theological, and jurisprudential frameworks: the categorical conflation of broad-spectrum neurotoxins (such as ethanol) with naturally occurring, receptor-specific flora (such as Cannabis sativa / Kaneh-Bosem). Utilizing non-self-adjoint operator calculus in Hilbert space, the paper mathematically models the contrast between Boundary Blunting (O_Blunt) and Frequency Resonance (O_Tune). Ethanol is shown to act as an isotropic noise generator that systematically depresses conscious bandwidth, induces phase decoherence, and triggers state-space collapse and executive agency failure (Aql). Conversely, phytocannabinoids function as adaptive band-pass transfer functions that filter out egocentric survival noise while preserving boundary integrity (P_Sigma) and amplifying coherent, low-entropy empathetic resonance. Additionally, the paper traces the linguistic evolution of ancient Semitic texts (Exodus 30:23) to reveal how Greek and Latin mistranslations obscured the historical role of homeostatic plants in sacred custody.
