Abstract

The slides to this very activating seminar illustrates how groups of 2-4 students think, pair and share their ideas on how the 5 integrity principles (Scrupulousness (Zorgvuldigheid); Independence (Onafhankelijkheid); Accountability (Verantwoordelijkheid); Honesty (Eerlijkheid); Transparency (Transparantie)) apply to the various phases in research projects. In the end, the groups create an integrity code together covering all aspects. During a 5-minute intro, I invite the students to see all scientific misconduct as forms of theft (inspired by a remark by the main character's father in The Kite Runner)
