Abstract

This report highlights two ethnographic studies that were conducted for the U.S. Air Force – one for the U.S. Academy (USAFA) and one for Schriever Space Force Base (SFB), Buckley SFB, Peterson SFB, Cheyenne Mountain Space Force Station (SFS), and F.E. Warren Air Force Base (Front Range installations). Parametrix completed the ethnography for USAFA in 2017, and Stell completed the ethnography for the remaining Front Range installations in 2022. Air Force Civil Engineer Center (AFCEC) tasked Argonne National Laboratory (Argonne) with assisting in planning and facilitating a series of working group meetings between USAFA and the Front Range installations and affiliated tribes to discuss the results of these two studies. This summary report covers the working group meeting held at the USAFA on September 19, 2025.
