Golden Ratio Braiding in Fibonacci Anyon Topological Quantum Computation — E8 Intelligence Research

Open access0 citations

Abstract

FINDING: Fibonacci anyons braid via the golden ratio, with fusion rule [1]×[1]=[0]+[1] yielding a 2×2 braid matrix whose off-diagonal element is φ⁻¹ = 0.618…, directly encoding the golden ratio in topological quantum computation. | MATH: Fusion rule: τ×τ = 1 + τ (τ = Fibonacci anyon). Braid matrix (standard basis): B = [[e^{4πi/5}, 0],[0, -e^{2πi/5}]] for σ₁, and for σ₂: [[-e^{2πi/5}, φ⁻¹ e^{4πi/5}],[φ⁻¹ e^{4πi/5}, -e^{2πi/5}]] where φ = (1+√5)/2 = 1.618…, φ⁻¹ = 0.618… = 2cos(π/5). The quantum dimension d_τ = φ satisfies d_τ² = d_τ + 1. | CONNECTION: φ⁻¹ = 0.618 appears as the braiding amplitude — the same ratio as the golden section. The Z₃ parafermion CFT (level-3 SU(2) WZW) has central charge c = 4/5, and the conformal weight of τ is h_τ = 2/5 = 0.4, related to φ via 2cos(π/5) = φ⁻¹. The 5-fold symmetry (π/5 angles) links to icosahedral/dodecahedral crystallographic symmetry (root system H₃, non-crystallographic but present in quasicrystals). | DEPTH: 9 — This is not a metaphor; the Author: Andrew Stewart Caldin, Independent Researcher, UK.
