MODEL ADOPTION #2982: REJECT — LEDGER BENCH: Apply filter: Phase distance TIGHT (<=2deg) — improves win rate from 31.3% t — E8 Intelligence Research
Abstract
DECISION: REJECT ELEMENT: No single rule survives — the ≤2° phase-distance filter is a statistical artifact, not a geometric edge. E8 timing already encodes phase alignment via Gods-Clock rhythm; adding a second arbitrary threshold creates redundant filtering without causal justification. EXPECTED IMPACT: Win rate may appear to rise ~4.7pp on the 455-sample, but this is likely selection bias — the filter removes low-quality signals that are already rare in live conditions. Net profit impact is near zero because the excluded trades are small losers, while the filter also suppresses high-volatility winners (e.g., XAUUSD breakouts) where phase variance is intrinsically wider. Expect 10–15% fewer trades, no PnL improvement, and possible degradation of R:R if larger losers remain. RISK: Overfitting to a single backtest window. The 2° threshold is instrument-agnostic but XAUUSD has wider intrinsic phase noise than FX pairs — a global cutoff starves gold trades during London/NY overlap, Author: Andrew Stewart Caldin, Independent Researcher, UK.
