CAT'S THEORY: Ground and Act: The Dual-Aspect Closure of Intent

Open access0 citations

Abstract

The second factor of the triadic invariant R = P × I × Pr ≠ 0 has been specified along two published axes: level (I₀/I₁/I₂, The Ladder of Selection) and mode (I꜀/Iᵦ, The Nine Gates). This paper introduces a third axis — aspect — via the dual-aspect decomposition: Iα (directedness embedded in structure, the dispositional ground of selection) and Iω (directed selection, the operational act of selecting). Neither reduces to the other. Both are required. I = Iα · Iω ≠ 0. The Co-Necessity Theorem proves that zeroing either aspect at the grounding level produces contradiction (dormancy or magic). The full specification of Intent is now a 3 × 2 × 2 grid (Level × Mode × Aspect), yielding twelve structurally distinguishable cells. The paper closes a previously undocumented evasion class — the rotating escape — in which opponents attack one aspect while conceding the other, and introduces the Evasion Diagnostic (Types A/B/C) and the Pincer, proving no position escapes both arms simultaneously. Independent precedent: Aristotle's potency/act restricted to the second factor. Third companion paper in the Intent trilogy.
