Self-Dual Trace Confinement: A Six Birds Structural Law for Formed Closures Under Involutive Self-Duality
Abstract
Let J be an involution of a measure space (X,μ), and let ψ be a strongly measurable observable with values in a real Hilbert space Y that intertwines J with a linear isometric involution of Y. The odd part ψ− of ψ vanishes on the fixed locus Fix(J); it is called separating when it vanishes only there. When ∫X‖ψ−‖2 dμ < ∞, the Gram operator AX = ∫X ψ−(ψ−)* dμ is positive and trace-class with tr AX = ∫X‖ψ−‖2 dμ. Consequently AX is dominated in the Loewner order by positive trace-class operators Bn with tr Bn → 0 if and only if ψ− = 0 almost everywhere, and then, for a separating readout, μ-almost every point is fixed by J. The paper records this equivalence together with a Markov-type bound under quantitative separation, variants for domination on finite windows and for budgets with two defect terms, and Douglas's characterization of exact domination. The mathematics is elementary. Its purpose is to fix the precise form of a hypothesis in the author's Six Birds framework, Self-Dual Trace Confinement (SDTC): that in specified self-dual settings such domination records are supplied by independent structure, for instance by an operator built from other data. SDTC is a named hypothesis, not a theorem: for a given ledger with a separating odd readout it is equivalent to confinement, and it cannot hold for all involutive ledgers, as a complex-conjugation example shows. All theorems, lemmas and propositions are formalized in Lean 4 with Mathlib for real Hilbert spaces of arbitrary dimension, with the trace of a positive operator taken as the sum of its diagonal entries in a Hilbert basis and the Gram operator as a Bochner integral in the operator norm; the trace-class integrability of the integrand and the standard facts identifying this trace with the trace-class trace are used only in the text.
