Inside a Coherent Block Universe: Phase Accessibility and the Ontology of the Biological Encounter with Reality

Open access0 citations

Abstract

Within the proposed framework, reality exists independently of organisms or conscious observation. Sequential order is a structural property of the spacetime membrane (ST), not a condition created by perception. Physical processes belong to that order whether they are experienced or not. Organisms, including humans, function within it; their sensing, retained information, and responses are proposed to express their participation through ST phase accessibility. Taking human reality as our focused case, we build on Ismael’s accounts of observers whose lives and temporal experiences belong within a complete Block Universe. We propose an ontological connection between this participation and the unwrapped phase organization of ST. We interpret the unavoidable sequential character of human experience as reflecting the physical order of which humans are part.
