The Path Availability TOE - Theory of Everything of Freedom

Open access0 citations

Abstract

Everything navigates. Electrons navigate conductors, heat navigates gradients, water navigates riverbeds, light navigates the geometry of spacetime, ants navigate terrain, occupants navigate buildings, stars navigate gravitational wells. I propose that navigation at every physical scale obeys one structural law: Freedom equals Perception divided by Distortion, raised to the topological friction exponent α, closed to its infinite-tetration limit α∞ through the Lambert W function. In the passive limit, this expression recovers Ohm's law[8], Fourier's law[9], Fick's law[10], Darcy's law[11], and the Langevin equation[12] as special cases with coefficient of determination greater than 0.99. The framework is organised around five theses stated in causal order. Thesis 1 proposes Freedom — structural path availability — as the first condition of every navigable system. Thesis 2 derives the Law of Freedom from three axioms: monotonicity, scale-covariance, separability. Thesis 3 proves that the universe executes as a four-layer generative operating system — Freedom, Logic, Relations, Physical — labelled FLRP, in which each layer is a causal consequent of the prior rather than a parallel factor. Thesis 4 establishes that the three are mutually dependent and predicts the Intelligence Paradox: connectivity added beyond a topological optimum reduces, rather than increases, the Freedom a graph supports. Thesis 5 proposes that intelligence is the operation of liquefying Distortion through Perception. The framework closes an unaddressed gap in current physics and philosophy of science: every existing foundational theory begins from axioms without specifying the origin of the axioms themselves. I propose that logic derives from Freedom — that the rules of valid inference are structural consequences of which transitions are path-available — and therefore that axioms are revealed, not constructed. Freedom cannot be created. Freedom can only be revealed. This repositions the act of theorising, designing, and engineering as revelation of structural possibility rather than imposition of human will on neutral matter. Positive and negative findings are reported at equal depth. Geometric composition of Distortion achieves R² = 0.993 against the arithmetic alternative at R² = 0.860. Alignment-based Perception achieves R² = 0.885 across 57,518 computational trials, with fitted α in the interval [1.19, 1.29] — 95% confidence interval excluding unity. The prior instrument-coupled Perception form is rejected at R² = 0.014 due to violation of the separation-of-instruments principle. In open navigation without topological constraint, Perception alone achieves R² = 0.83 versus R² = 0.48 for the ratio form — establishing that the contribution of Distortion is attributional where the navigable substrate is unconstrained and predictive where it is constrained. The framework is applied to the construction of housing through Planta Smart Homes: a temporary, configurable solidification process realised by acoustic morphogenesis in a hydrogel–water substrate, locked at the granular jamming limit α = 1.4447[26], controlled by a real-time operating system that computes Freedom = (Perception / Distortion)^α∞ at every sixty-second tick. Twenty biomimetic morphologies and twenty strict engineering heuristics are derived from the law, not FCT Grant 2025.00020.AIVLAB.DEUCALION · Page 2 of 46 ARCHITECTURE OF FREEDOM INTELLIGENCE · The Path Availability · Melo de Magalhães (2026) added by stylistic choice. Target materials cost is at most two thousand euros per unit; assembly requires no specialist labour. All numerical results were obtained on the national supercomputing facility at MACC, Guimarães, under FCT Grant 2025.00020.AIVLAB.DEUCALION, with every stochastic operation using numpy.random.default_rng(2026) and each key result independently reproduced at least three times. Fifteen falsification criteria are pre-registered before physical sensor validation begins in April 2026. Author ORCID: 0009-0008-6255-7724. License: Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International.
